home is where the heart is

     I am at home today enjoying Snow Day #21! I have loved ALL 21 of them! I love being at home…sometimes I am very productive and sometimes I watch 27 episodes of Law and Order…but whatever!

         We are settling into our new house.  I love love love it! I am typically very picky about things.  For example, we drove to Kansas to look at a SUV once.  I really liked it….I did not like the salesman.  He was rude, cocky, etc.  We drove the car, liked the car, and almost bought the car.  However, right at the last minute I lost it!! I refused to buy it, something just wasn’t right.  As you can imagine, house shopping usually goes about the same way.  Not this time though!

         The tire shop is doing very well and being an hour away just wasn’t realistic anymore.  We started looking for places.  Our first stop was a brand new house in a subdivision.  It was a beautiful house, but we just weren’t made for a subdivision. We like seclusion and space for all of our treasured possessions (aka Brad’s junk). The search continued…. We looked online, drove around and looked at hundreds of houses.  Finally, we found a house and 10 acres about 5 miles out of town.  The first time we looked at the house it had snowed a ton, seems to be a pretty common trend this winter.  We both loved it! We immediately knew it was ours!

         Fast-forward a couple months, we are here and loving it! It’s cozy, perfect, and ours! I am enjoying decorating and putting our own spin on it! This week I have been trying to convince Brad to hang some pictures for me.  He told me on Monday that we worked so hard to paint all the walls, that it would be better if we left them blank! WHHAATTT?! No Way!

         With that being said, I haven’t left this lovely house since Saturday.  The bad thing is I don’t even care! I am secretly hoping I get one more day off.
